History[]
According to Zapp, Gilbert has a younger brother.[1] Sometime in his life, Gilbert came under the employ of the von Reinherz family and became one of their Combat Butlers. He primarily answers to Head Maid Catherine Bates.
One night at the von Reinherz mansion, Gabriel warns Klaus to be careful due to his naive nature, having heard of his earlier bird attack. Klaus' agreement with Gabriel makes Ignatz point out that he affirmed the observation, but Gilbert kindly says Klaus's nature can be seen as charming.[2]
After the Great Collapse, Gilbert moved to Hellsalem's Lot to keep an eye on Klaus. He became an integral part of Libra's intelligence network.
Powers and Abilities[]
Unique Abilities[]
- Superhuman Regeneration: Gilbert's body possesses an extremely fast rate of regeneration which is only active when he's been inflicted with grave injuries or blows which cause instant death. This ability is shown after Gilbert's head was cleaved in two by an Alterworld creature, who'd stolen Phillip's brain, but managed to hold onto consciousness and kill it shortly afterwards. However, despite being able to heal from pretty much any wound, this power doesn't nullify the pain which comes from his injuries.
Equipment[]
- Visceral Heavy Industry (ヴィセラル重工製 Viseraru Jūkōsei?): Gilbert arms his car with a number of different weapons in order to fight against enemies.
- Plasma Cutter (プラズマカッター Purazuma Kattā?): Gilbert arms his car with a three-eyed laser which can cut through any tough substance.
- Bethesda Firearms Death Caliber .50 (ベセスダファイアアームズ製デスカリバー。50 Besesuda Faiaāmuzu-sei Desu Karibā Pointo Fifutī?): Gilbert arms his car with machine gun turrets to shoot at his enemies.
