The Blood Blockade Battlefront manga received a stage play adaptation in 2019, and was followed by a second one in 2020. Both plays were written and directed by Daisuke Nishida.

First Stage Play[]

The first play covers the manga chapters 7, 8, 12 & 13 and 26-30

The play ran on November 2019 performing in two cities:

  • Tokyo at Galaxy Theatre (November 2-10)
  • Osaka at Umeda Arts Theater’s Theater Drama City venue (November 14-17)

It was also streamed as a paid broadcast on the Nico Nico platform from November 30 until December 15, 2019. An official DVD/BD was released by Toho on March 18, 2020. The release included two discs, with the first disc containing the main feature and a second bonus disc with a Making-of feature (Backstage, training room, etc).

Second Stage Play[]

A second play titled "Kekkai Sensen - Beat Goes On" was performed  during 2020, with Daisuke Nishida returning to write and direct it.

The play opened on November 20 and ran until December 6, 2020, with performances on two cities:

  • Tokyo at Galaxy Theatre (November 20-29)
  • Osaka at Osaka Mielparque Hall (December 3-6)

Third Stage Play[]

A third play titled "Kekkai Sensen - Blitz Along Alone" was announced for 2021, with Daisuke Nishida returning to direct it. A Game Between Two Worlds, Run! Lunch!! Run!!! and A Phantom Hospital Ward Rises are some of the confirmed storylines it will adapt.

The play will be performed on two cities from October 22 to November 7:

  • Tokyo at the Galaxy Theatre, from October 22nd to 31st, 2021
  • Osaka at the Umeda Arts Theater’s Theater Drama City venue, from November 4 to November 7, 2021

  • Tanoue Marina (田上真里奈) as Luciana Estevez

  • Gōmoto Naoya(郷本直也) as Zamedle's dog
